Endoscopic Spine Surgery

Endoscopic Spine Surgery

Over 8,000 successful procedures and counting.

Dr. Tony Mork, MD provides Endoscopic Spine Surgery as a solution to your back pain, eliminating the need for opiates and resorting to dangerous surgical procedures that end up leaving patients in more pain than prior to the procedure.

Endoscopic spine surgery is a minimally invasive approach and typically an outpatient procedure where most patients return to their "normal" selves in approximately 1-6 weeks.

I HAVE HAD 3 SURGERIES FROM DR MORK OVER THE PAST 6 YEARS USING HIS ENDOSCOPIC SURGICAL TECHNIQUES FOR THE SPINE. ALL THREE RESULTS WERE MORE THAN I EXPECTED. I HAVE HAD 9 SPINE SURGERIES IN MY LIFE INCLUDING FUSION AND HAD GIVEN UP HOPE WHEN I FOUND DR. MORK. HIS AMBULATORY BACK SURGERIES WERE STATE OF THE ART USING EQUIPMENT AND MODALITIES HE INVENTED. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HOW WELL I FEEL NOW.

Dr. Mork was better than exceptional. He took the time to do the tests needed to accurately determine what the issue really was whereas other doctors were ready to go after the first MRI. Two days after my surgery I was at the beach relaxing in the waves. I am now 7 weeks out from my surgery and I can confidently say that I haven't felt this good in more years than I care to think. Dr. Mork and his staff took the time to stay in contact throughout the entire process. He has given me the ability to pick up my daughter again. He has given me my life back. I would implore anyone looking for a good Dr to give Dr. Mork a call. Bone chip/spur removed C4 - C5. Had broken off into nerve cavity. Was ruled an extra bone grown from birth. Dr. Mork was the only one who found this. Other Dr's wanted to fuse it and that would have only worsened my problems ten fold. Couldn't have asked for more. Thank you Dr. Mork and staff!

I had Dr Tony Mork perform surgery on my spine for Spinal Stenosis on Thursday Oct 08/2015. We had a consultation at his office for about an hour on Wed Oct 7th. I showed up at Orange Memorial hospital on Thursday at 11am, went through the admitting procedure paper work and was settled in on a gurney and shortly the anesthesiologist appeared and started to explain the procedure she would use to put me under. I was surprised by this because I had understood that Dr Mork worked with local anesthesia and did not require that his patient be put under. A retired anesthesiologist friend of mine had recommended Dr Mork for this reason and that is one of the main reasons I flew to California from Las Vegas for the surgery. My anesthesiologist and Dr Mork explained that in my case since I suffered from shortness of breath, that this would be the safest way to proceed. I was put to sleep and the last thing I remember was seeing the lights in the operating room. The surgery lasted about 1 1/2 hrs and I awoke in recovery were I spent a couple of hours before being released My nephew picked me up, we went out to dinner and I felt fine. A little groggy but no pain. I awoke Friday the day after surgery and felt great. No Pain at all. In fact I called Torrey Pines paragliding and attempted to arrange some flying for Saturday as my return flight to Las Vegas was not until Sunday morning. This did not work out due to weather conditions and it was a good thing as I was in considerable pain all day Saturday. Sunday it was worse and I needed a wheelchair at both Long Beach and Las Vegas for the flight home. It was painful to a lesser degree for about 5 weeks during which time Dr Mork expressed great concern about my situation and even offered to fly over to see me at my home if things did not improve. This was not necessary and I am now pain free with only a very tiny scar on my back as a souvenir . I must admit I did not follow Dr Mork's instructions to the letter in regard to taking the medications he had prescribed because I felt so good the day after surgery. Throughout the entire experience Dr Mork explained my problem, what he would do to correct it, and answered any of my questions thoroughly. I am glad I had Dr Mork perform the surgery and would highly recommend him. . I celebrated my 80th birthday pain free on Nov 15th. and intend to get back to Torrey Pines for the paragliding right after the ski season is over and before the weather here in Nevada warms up enough to allow me to drive my 1951 MGTD and ride my Yamaha 1300 V Star motorcycle. Thank you Dr Tony!

I had a phone consultation with Dr. Mork. He was very knowledgeable, and generous with his time during our conversation. I really appreciated that he explained his procedures in detail for minimally invasive neck and spine surgery. I will consider him to be my surgeon in the future. Thank you so much Dr. Mork! Nina N.

I hope my recent experience with Dr. Mork will help those who suffered from cervical stenosis make decision in choosing the best option of treatment. I suffered from severe back and arm pain for five year after a bicycle accident. Recently, symptoms getting worse and all orthopedic neurosurgeons I have visited told me that I need an anterial cervical discectomy and fusion (ACDF) because MRI revealed that I had severe cervical stenosis at C5, C6 and C7 caused by the Herniation. I did a lots of home work online and realized that ACDF had a major consequence in about one third of patients years later, i.e., adjacent segment disease (ASD) that may lead to another surgery again and potential persistent back and neck pain probably in rest of my life. I think that is definitely not what I want. Searching online again, I submitted my MRI to several institutions and orthopedic neurosurgeons across the nation. Dr. Tony Mork was the only one responses immediately and set up phone interview the next day with me and my husband to review my MRI and discuss the plan of the surgery. He explained everything clearly with us about procedure and answered all the questions and concerns very professionally and patiently. Right after our phone interview and discussion, his nurse coordinated and arranged surgery very effectively. On August 19th, 2014, I had the endoscopic discectomy of C5-6 and C6-7 successfully. My back/neck pain and arm numbness dramatically went away right after recovering from anesthesia. This is amazing! I got two levels of Herniation removed at one time of surgery! I'm so happy to have such "life saving", simple and affordable surgery. My hard home work has given me a huge benefits in return... My friend learnt my story and joked "I"ll definitely have Dr. Mork do my surgery if I got neck problem...". Finally, I have only one word: Dr. Mork gets my life back!

I believe dr.mork is one of the most passionate and caring doctor I've met. he has so much knowledge about what he does. I am so happy I went with dr.mork and not laser spine institute, with dr.mork I felt compassion and at laser spine institute I felt like a number. Since my surgery I have been running again and able to do the things I wasn't able to do for years. Thank you dr.mork and christina.

I had tingling, pins and needles, and pain when writing or holding items in my left (dominant) hand. Dr Mork ordered an MRI after an initial evaluation and reviewed the MRI with me carefully explaining all the issues (herniated disc and foraminal stenosis). He recommended surgery and scheduled an outpatient procedure at a convenient time. I had immediate same day relief of my symptoms and left the hospital less than 12 hours later. Four months later I still have to be careful not to overstress my neck but I am still happy with the outcome since all my initial complaints have gone away. I have called the doctor on two occasions to ask questions - he was happy to talk with me, I never felt rushed and we worked out a plan of action. His staff is excellent: helpful and charming. Dr Mork's expertise is astonishing. It is a shame there aren't more doctors like him.

Dr. Mork and his staff and hospital assistants are compassionate, kind, respectful and extremely competent. Dr. Mork is an amazing surgeon and I highly recommend him. He performed surgery on both my lumbar and cervical spine and I couldn't believe how quickly I recovered! His technique is really state of the art and he provides post-surgical support and follow-up. I wish I could see him for all my medical services; he is so positive and encouraging. Thank you, Dr. Mork!

Recently, I flew in to California from Toronto to meet with Dr. Tony Mork. He was extremely professional and so was the entire staff at Coast Spine. He took the time to listen and time to answer all my questions while explaining the procedure. I can't thank him enough for the care and attention that was given to me prior and post-surgery. I am completely satisfied with Dr. Mork, he was beyond amazing and so was his team! This was a first-rate professional experience for me. You are a true life saver. I am very grateful! Thank you Dr. Mork!

I first met Dr. Mork 14 years when he performed surgery on my upper back. It was like a miracle! I went in one day with excruciating pain and walked out the next day pain free. I had been told by different patients this would be the case, but I found it hard to believe. I am now a believer! The area Dr. Mork worked on has been 100% pain free for 14 years. I am returning to his clinic for surgery on my lower back. Since my first visit Dr. Mork has started doing phone consultations. He was so thorough in his explanation one would have thought I was a new patient to the entire procedure. This process is extremely effective and saves trips, days, and time in his office. I am so excited to get the relief I have needed for several years now. There are doctors in our area and all around the state of Texas that claim to do a similar procedure, but I have so much confidence in Dr. Mork that I am thrilled to travel half way across the United States to obtain his services. I would highly recommend his as a surgeon !

Dr. is the one of the best doctor I have ever met. He understand what is the best for the patient and he has the best skills and the best experience to make his patient benefit the most from his surgery and treatment with minimal cost and suffering. His high quality warrant the high reputation as a best orthopedic surgeon in the world. My recent experience and outcome of the endoscopic cervical disk surgery of herniation was the evidence of what I commented above. Therefor, I highly recommend Dr. Mork to you if you have spinal disk problem and be told that you need disk fusion surgery!

It has been over three years I was operated by Dr. Mork for multiple problems at multiple levels caused by degenerative disc disease and injuries. Stenosis and other bone and disc problems I had at those multiple levels had pretty much incapacitated me. Since then, my quality of life has greatly improved. I am not young again, but I can get around and enjoy my family and friends again. I am so appreciative. I highly recommend Dr. Mork.

Dr. Mork has cared for my health in a sincere and compassionate way. He called (personally) to see how I am doing, talked at length with a family member to explain to them his approach, techniques, and after-care. He even gave them his personal cell phone number to put them at ease over the weekend during my recovery. Dr. Mork is a gifted surgeon and well respected by the O.R. team. As I was was being prepped for surgery 2 different nurses told me that if they ever need this surgery, Dr. Mork would be the only Doctor they would go to! That in it of itself was all the reassurance I needed!

I had my lumbar surgery with Dr. Mork in 2007. I was seen at Microspine in Florida at my appointment time and all the doctors that work with Dr. Mork were sensitive, skilled and really cared about my case. Dr. Mork himself has an unsurpassed bedside manner and all the patients Ive referred to him rave about his compassion. I flew from California to Florida for my surgery and with the tiny incision and quick healing time, my visit was more of a vacation than a surgical process.I have a complicated diagnosis as confirmed by Spine Universe, UCLA and the other several Orthopedic Surgeons Ive consulted with prior to seeking out Dr. Mork. Basically Ive been told I was either inoperable or would require two, triple fusions. Dr. Mork operated on my greatest pain location and that procedure gave pain relief to other areas of my body. Also, unless I was completely satisfied, he was intent on continuing the procedure as long as it took.I was so satisfied with my experience Ive referred my mother to Dr. Mork for lumbar surgery and my father had cervical surgery at the Florida office. Both surgeries were 100% successful. In the past three months, Ive been to his new office twice with other patients. I brought my best friend to consult with Dr. Mork at his Newport Beach, CA office. We have been seen at the exact appointment time on all visits. NO waiting whatsoever. My best friend got instant relief from a car accident induced lower back condition. She called me after her procedure to tell me how wonderful his bedside manner was and how surprised she and the new nurses were to see how quickly and accurately he relieved her pain. She is back to racing cars on the weekends again. The following week my father (age 83) had his first lumbar surgery with Dr. Mork. Dad was a successful cervical patient five years prior, but didnt expect to get the level of relief he got just six weeks ago. Dads back out on the golf course practicing for the first time in three years.I have also referred patients to Dr. Mork that I dont know personally (friends of family) and the reports Ive received back were all nothing short of excellent. I would recommend this surgeon with heartfelt 100% confidence.

This is the first review I’ve ever written about anyone, but I’m compelled to add 5 stars on behalf of Dr. Tony Mork and his wonderful staff. I had a phone consultation with Dr. Mork in which he very patiently and thoroughly explained what had been causing all my pain. Meeting him for the first time on the morning of surgery solidified my impression that this was a kind, caring, and professional man. After endoscopically removing a cyst from my lumbar spine and decompressing the facet joint, he followed up with a home visit and phone calls to check on my progress. I am pain-free just 4 weeks after surgery! Finding Dr. Mork was an answer to prayer and I’m very grateful!

The endoscope is the ultimate approach to minimally invasive spine surgery!

The ultimate procedure in the realm of “minimally invasive" surgical procedures is endoscopic spine surgery. Most procedures that claim to be minimally invasive are using a tube that typically ranges from 18-22mm in diameter, which is definitely not "minimally invasive" to say the least. Endoscopic procedures use a tube that has a diameter of 7-10mm. To give you a gauge of how small this is, a dime is nearly 18mm.

Minimally Invasive Means Everything Is Minimal

Minimal incision size

Minimal pain

Minimal anesthesia

Minimal recovery time

Minimal risk of infection

Minimal soft tissue damage

Minimal time at a facility (typically an outpatient procedure)

NO FUSION
